Kovvur town reminds us of river Godavari. The banks of river Godavari are identified with Goshpadakshetram. It also takes us back in time to the reminiscence of Sage Goutama. It is historically evident that river Godavari has taken its route through Kovvur due to the penance undertaken by Sage Goutama. The original name of Kovvuru town is Govuru. With the passage of time, Govuru came to be transformed into what we are presently calling i.e., Kovvuru. River Godavari is as pure & divine as the Ganges flowing across Varanasi(Kashi).

Foundation laying ceremony of Dharmika Bhavanamu was held on
28-5-2011, Saturday at 9.22 am. Sri Vundavalli Arun Kumar, Member of Parliament, was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
